Like all essential oils, the oil of the lavender plant is carefully extracted by steam distillation, which is the process of injecting steam into the plant’s roots, stems, flowers, leaves or bark, releasing the aromatic properties as a vapour. Once distilled, only the essential lavender oil remains.

There are a variety of ways to use lavender oils:

Lavender oil in your bath can take your bathing to a whole new level of relaxation. Simply run a warm bath, add 4-6 drops of oil and swirl it around with your hand. Then enjoy this aromatic oil’s lavish scent as you sink into the warmth.

Lavender oil for massage makes an already relaxing activity even more so. Blend with a base or carrier oil like sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, argan oil or grapeseed oil – the recommended ratio is 5 drops of essential oil to 10ml of base oil. As you get massaged, this aromatherapy oil will fill the room with its soothing scent and will leave your skin incredibly soft.

Lavender oil on your pillow can help you get ready for a good night’s sleep and ensure that your slumber is nice and tranquil the whole night through. Simply add a few drops onto your pillow.

Directions:

Enjoy the benefits of Miaroma essential oils for massage, in your bath or vaporisation. For massage, dilute at a recommended rate of 5 drops of essential oil to 10ml of Miaroma base oil. For bathing, run a warm bath, add 4-6 drops of oil and disperse with your hand. Then relax in the bath for at least 10 minutes to allow the aroma to work. Vaporisation of essential oils can create different moods or can be used to freshen your home. Oil burners or light bulb rings are ideal ways to vaporise essential oils.
